Swimmers

Jerry often asks questions to which I have no intelligent answers. On our way to his swimming lesson yesterday, he asked in succession whether several types of animals know how to swim: cats, dogs, bunnies, etc. When I told him that I didn't think bunnies knew how to swim, he naturally asked why. All I could say was that I didn't know, wasn't sure, and had not thought about that question. Seeing that I was not answering his question, Jerry, of course, came up with his own brilliant answer that God had made the bunny that way. Hopefully, the next time I use that to answer another of his future questions, he will not follow-up by asking why God does what he does.
On the topic of animals, we went to the HK Zoological and Botanical Garden today to visit some animals (sorry, no pics since Jerry doesn't like his pic taken, I did not bother bringing a camera). At the aviary, a bird was perched on a branch which had half a papaya and 2 halves of an apple stuck on it. The bird was feeding on the papaya and Jerry imagined that the bird was calling out to his friends to come share the apple with him. He even verbalised the conversation: "Wei wei, come and share with me, the apple is delicious!" I love it when he role plays, cos then, he gives me a break from answering his difficult questions! ha ha.

Aaron, though stuck at home, was not bored. He went to visit his play pal, cousin Jasper and they both blew raspberries galore. It's too hot for the two of them to venture out, so, indoors playtime is the best thing.

When not playing, Aaron spends time in front of the TV, seriously watching and looking older than he is.

Bunnies cannot swim.

When I was visiting Dallas, Astor volunteered to babysit L while B & I went out on a lunch date. I was hesitant at first b/c L was superfussy and not taking the bottle but thought, if anyone can do this, it's As(s). When we were done with our lunch, we dropped by Astor's to pick up L. Walked in the house and everyone/everything was so peaceful. L was sleeping, Nicole had a friend over and was swimming out in the backyard. Astor looked relaxed, so I asked how it was. Apparently, 10 minutes before I'd arrived....Nicole and friend saw two bunnies hop into the pool and was screaming, 'BUNNIES BUNNIES!! Mommy SAVE BUNNIES!!' all while Lucas was wailing his heart out. Weighing the decisions to leave Lucas in the house crying and save bunnies or continue to pacify the baby...Astor said to Lucas, "I have to save the bunnies, be good or else the dead bunnies will haunt you in your dreams." So, Astor put the baby down and saved the bunny (the other one didn't make it). The girls were cheering, bunny hopped away, and when Astor got back in the house, Lucas was quietly sleeping. Long story to say that bunnies don't swim...and Astor is superwoman. :)

What a bitter-sweet ending to your story Ann. Thanks. I can give Jerry a definitive answer, next time he asks.

Andrew, Jerry and I went with to the park, just the two of us...too hot and we got hit by bird poo (luckily, the umbrella was up to keep the sun away!).

Bunny can't swim, that's true.

hahaha, Ann, you tell the story as you were in it. That is pretty much the scene at the house.

Nicole and her friend were screaming for the bunny's life, while Lucas was crying his heart out. I hesitate to save the bunny but to keep Lucas calm. But my conscience can't allow me have the girls watch the bunny die in front of them. So I made a cruel decision to have Lucas cried on the bed, while I made sure he is safe, and I did tell him, "E ma has to save the bunny, if it make it, you will be blessed, otherwise he will come haunt you". Then I went to the pool and scooped the bunny out, (while the girls screaming and cheering at the same time). I dumped the alive-bunny out in the alley and went back to scoop the dead one and dump i the trash.

Lucas was crying the whole time, so I calmed him down by giving him milk milk and few moments later, went to sleep.

I must guess the bunny didn't haunt him so he gets a very good nap.

Dog can swim, but not for long....

Sad story. If you know why our beloved Cowboy is "lost", that's why.

or I should say: Dog can swim, even little-tiney-tiny one, but they can't swim too long in the water without getting a grip back on the ground; or else... :-(
